Curtains
I've always liked the plain silk curtains when I flipped through the Pottery Barn catalogs. But I was thinking that I might like something with a simple pattern to add some texture, since I don't have any other patterns. If/when I get a rug, it would probably be something plain and simple too.
So these are two examples of fabrics that I would like for curtains. Maybe something similar in a darker blue to match the Van Gogh painting.

Also, I kind of like this art work for another wall in the living room. It kind of matches the Van Gogh and room color theme I'm headed in.

Oh no, I'm addicted to posting on this blog!

Silk and Velvet Curtains
These are my favorite curtains (and most expensive). These photos are from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. If you can find these silks online for a good deal, it saves a lot of money. I just love how they are formal, simple, and not too fancy.
A Couple More Things
So here's a better picture of the tapa cloth. So another question I have is, if I redo the mat should I leave the raw edge? I kind of like it and think it looks more "natural".

The wall color for the kitchen. I like the darker color on the right, but we're going with the lighter on the left because it matches our tile better.

Another painting question: Where should I stop the kitchen wall color? By the door or should I paint this wall going up the stairs? The only thing is that I can't really paint the wall on the other side of the stairs because it continues up into the stairwell and there's no way I'll be able to paint that because I don't have a ladder that will reach.

Well, that's it for now. :)
Oh yeah, I showed this to my friend and she wants me to post pictures of her living room so you guys can make pillow and curtain suggestions. Are you guys ok with that?

My Projects
Ladies, I've been a very busy girl. I finished scraping the popcorn in my kitchen and then textured the ceiling on the first floor. I took some pictures for your viewing enjoyment.
The before:
The during:

The after (it's not a very good picture because it's the only one that the flash didn't wash out.):

What do you think? I'm happy with it, but it was a TON of work. Sigh.
So now I need some design advice. I begin painting prep tomorrow. I'm painting my living room and dining room green and the kitchen a kind of cream/beige color. Kind of boring, I know. So the first question is, where do I change the color in this picture?

Area A = area boxed off in orange
Area B = area boxed off in green
(stop laughing at me!)
a) Area A painted green and Area B painted creme;
b) Area A and Area B painted creme; or
c ) Area A and area B painted green.
Initially I was going to do a, but then I was thinking that maybe b would open up and create more of a flow into the kitchen. Steve and all my friends think I should do a, but I'm all over the place.
Next question: Should I change the matting on my framed tapa cloth? I don't know what I was thinking when I picked a creme matting. I obviously didn't know what I was doing. Now I want to change it to white and I think it would look better with the green. I called Michael's and it would cost me $35 to make the change. Not exactly what I want to spend my money on, but it bothers me every time I look at it. Am I overreacting? (We're going with the lighter green sample on the left).

Not a question, but another picture of the sample paint with our couch. Again we picked the lighter green on the left. It's a little darker in person.

The painting we had framed. It's in a 2.5 inch wide dark brown frame with a white mat. It's going above the couch.

So my final question. How in the world am I going to put curtains on these windows?
I think it would look really stupid to have three different curtain rods (or whatever you call them) on the one wall. My initial thought is to have one really, really long rod across the three windows. I would also put the rods closer to the ceiling like Sariah. Sariah, where did you get your curtain rod for your living room? I think I want to do something like that (thinner metal without big decorative ball thingies on the end). By the way, I'm not a huge fan of this funky bump out in our living room. Someone was smoking crack....
Anyway, help me!

Imitation Pottery Barn Curtains
On the left we have Pottery Barn. On the right we have white curtains from Ikea and a number of ribbons to choose from to add for trim. All ribbon is found on Etsy.

I love how you can store all your fabrics in a folder, create a background, and pull fabrics, furniture and accessories together to create a look.
