Since drapes are such an investment you don't want to go out of style too soon, you can stick with the original idea of getting plain gold drapes. Its neutral and will be reusable when you get tired of your throw pillow fabrics and want to switch those up. Neutral curtains and couch with colored pillows and decor?

I agree. I'm thinking maybe a soft gold color. I couldn't do green curtains behind a green couch. It would work after I got my leather couches but until then...not so much.
I'm wondering if you should go with cream colored curtains...
